(USNewsMag.com) – The April 27th 911 call from Mica Miller, the estranged wife of Myrtle Beach pastor John Paul Miller, reveals heartbreaking details about her intent to end her own life in a wooded area in North Carolina and ensure her family would be able to find her body.
On May 7th, in an effort to push back against conspiracy theories surrounding Ms. Miller’s death, the call was released by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
During the call, Miller gave the dispatcher her phone number and asked the dispatcher if her phone’s location could be traced, noting that she was sharing her location on her phone. The dispatcher confirmed that Miller’s location showed she was at Lumber River State Park.
According to the audio, Miller told the dispatcher she intended to commit suicide and “just want my family to know where to find me.”
On May 6th, the Robeson County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death a suicide.
Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said as the case gained “attention from across the Carolinas and beyond,” that “rumors and conspiracy theories” were quickly spreading. He noted that the “evidence is quite clear and compelling.”
A timeline of Miller leaving her house and buying the gun at a pawn shop before heading to the state park was established by authorities, and deputies located a handgun in the water near the crime scene when they arrived at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the sheriff’s office, her estranged husband, John Paul Miller, and a woman he was allegedly involved with were at an athletic event in Charleston, South Carolina, on the night before and the day of Mica Miller’s death.
Before her death, Mica Miller had claimed to family and church members that her husband abused her.
Rumors about her death began to circulate after an affidavit filed by Sierra Francis, her younger sister, in Horry County Probate Court revealed that before her death, Miller had reportedly said that if she was ever found dead, her husband did it.
