Once you join a political party, check your voter registration status. Each state has different requirements for voting, and it is important to check your voter registration status before Election Day. If you are not registered to vote, the website vote.gov will help you learn more about registering to vote. You can then vote on Election Day, or, depending on the rules for your state, by mail-in or absentee ballot.
