(USNewsMag.com) – Many Twitter users have commented that the White House’s Pride Month display on June 10 breaches the US Flag Code, and the administration of President Joe Biden has received criticism for the display.
The flags, all of which faced the South Lawn, included a rainbow Pride flag and two American flags.
A number of Twitter users have complained that the display violated the United States Flag Code since the American flag is not shown in the middle of the display.
Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, said that Biden is disrespecting every American military member buried beneath the flag. He said President Joe Biden is advancing a revolutionary ideology that specifically targets children with this celebration.
Fitton cited US Flag Code 7. (e), which states that the American flag must be “at the center and at the highest point” of any display of state flags, town flags, or society pennants.
Conservative pundit Benny Johnson once said that the flag of America must be flown in a dominant, rather than submissive, position at all times. To critics, the President’s event desecrated the American flag by displaying it in an inferior position to the symbolic flags of partisan political interests.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall called the situation an embarrassment. It’s not only disrespectful to the American flag, but it also shows how this administration has prioritized their own social agenda before patriotism, he said.
President Biden hosted a White House Pride Month event on Saturday, and the exhibit was a major focal point of the event. Performers and speakers at the event hailed the Pride movement as a model for the United States and the globe.
