(USNewsMag.com) – The annual NRA-ILA Leadership Forum will feature President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The April 14 forum is part of the three-day annual meeting of the NRA, which will be held in Indianapolis.
The NRA’s annual meeting will also feature seminars about gun ownership, as well as the newest guns and gear currently available.
While Trump has previously spoken at the forum, this will be the first time DeSantis has spoken at the event. Trump, who has addressed members of the NRA both as president as well as after, will speak in-person at the forum.
DeSantis, who signed legislation April 3 allowing for constitutional carry in Florida, will be speaking at the forum via video appearance. The constitutional carry legislation was approved in the Florida Senate 27-13 in the last week of March sending the bill to DeSantis. The new law signed April 3 by DeSantis means that 26 states now have laws for constitutional or permitless carry, which means the U.S. is now a nation with a constitutional carry-majority. The new law takes effect July 1.
Republican Presidential candidate Nikki Haley, former South Carolina governor and former United Nations Ambassador, will also be speaking at the forum via video.
Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have also announced the campaigns for the Republican nomination for president, will also be speaking.
DeSantis has not yet announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president, though it is expected he will when the Florida legislature ends its session in May.
Some of the other leaders who will be part of the forum include Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, former Vice President Mike Pence, Indiana Sen. Mike Braun and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, some of whom have spoken at previous forums.
