Popular Drinks RECALLED – They’ve Been Contaminated!
(USNewsMag.com) – Capri Sun has become one of the most popular drinks for children since its introduction in 1969. More than one billion pouches are sold every year. This summer, the company is recalling thousands of pouches.
On Friday, August 12, Kraft Heinz announced a voluntary recall of Capri Sun Wild Cherry flavored drinks. A notice from the company states that a “diluted cleaning solution” was accidentally “introduced into a production line” at one of the factories. The chemicals are used to sterilize the equipment.
The company discovered the problem after receiving consumer complaints about the drinks tasting strange. More than 5,700 cases of Capri Sun are impacted by the recall. Consumers should look for products with a “best when used by” date of June 25, 2023.

This recall isn’t the first time the company has had trouble. In 2021, a man shared a video on TikTok that appeared to show mold in a Capri Sun pouch. According to the company, that can happen to the pouches because they lack artificial preservatives.
Those who have the recalled products should return them to the store where they were purchased. Consumers can contact the company by calling 1-800-280-8252, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
