She’s LEAVING – White House In Shambles!

( – Kate Berner is set to depart her role as a top communications official in the White House, according to Biden administration officials. Berner is currently the principal deputy communications director.

White House communications director Ben LaBolt confirmed her departure May 15 in a tweet saying that Berner has been involved with the communications operations for the administration more than 4 years and she would be missed.

Berner began working with President Joe Biden during his 2020 presidential campaign. She was an early hire to the campaign. After he was elected, she began working for his administration as a deputy communications director. During summer 2022, she was promoted to the position of principal deputy communications director.

She was responsible for leading the internal war rooms during both the infrastructure bill as well as the Inflation Reduction Act.

Berner, along with deputy press secretary Andrew Bates, were the last few remaining aides working in the White House press department who also worked on Biden’s 2020 campaign.

Those who have worked with Berner, including Kate Bedingfield, the former White House communications director, offered praise of her work for the administration. Berner’s work ethic was praised by Chris Meagher, who is the assistant to the secretary of defense for public affairs.

It is unclear if Berner will be moving over to work on Biden’s 2024 campaign. After his announcement that he would seek re-election, there has been movement of some on his team to move over to the 2024 campaign. Currently, Kevin Munoz, the former White House deputy press secretary, is the campaign press secretary. White House official Julie Chavez Rodriguez is expected to transition to her position as campaign manager before the end of May.  Currently, Chavez Rodriguez, is working as a senior adviser to Biden and is the director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.

It is also expected that Deputy Chief of Staff Jen O’Malley Dillon, Chief of Staff Jeffrey D. Zients will play roles in the reelection campaign.
