(USNewsMag.com) – Sex trafficking is the most common form of human trafficking and generates an estimated $99 billion. The majority of victims are women who have used Planned Parenthood’s services.
According to those who have survived sex trafficking, the clinic ignores signs of trafficking, does not ask questions, and the services are free. In other words, it’s an ideal place for traffickers.
Human trafficking survivors often go to Planned Parenthood for treatment, according to a 2014 study by the Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy. One third of sex trafficking survivors have visited the clinic, and among the 66 human-trafficking survivors, there were a total of 114 abortions.
One survivor got pregnant several times while being trafficked and had multiple abortions. Another female reported 17 abortions and indicated that at least some of them were forced on her.
A trafficked female went to Planned Parenthood to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases and birth control while her trafficker befriended the staff and became a repeat customer. Still, no one batted an eye. The clinic continues to ignore the warning signs and collect money from repeat visitors.
A 2011 investigation revealed video footage of employees aiding alleged traffickers and providing guidance on obtaining abortions and birth control for minors aged 14 and 15.
Employees at seven Planned Parenthood facilities across the country aided sex traffickers by advising them on how to have victims tested, circumvent laws to obtain abortions, and provide false information about the ages of girls to avoid mandated reporting laws.
The clinics disregard parental-consent laws and provide abortions for underage girls in prostitution. They have also disclosed illegal ways of obtaining birth control and abortions for uninsured minors.
It’s evident from survivors’ accounts that Planned Parenthood routinely failed to provide help. Despite being exposed in multiple undercover investigations for not reporting rape and assisting in sex trafficking, Planned Parenthood’s revenue remains at $1.6 billion.
