(USNewsMag.com) – A Jewish lady in New York who flies the Israeli flag said that a guy hurled a piece of concrete through her window because he saw the flag. The incident was recorded as a hate crime.
The victim, a lady named Rochelle who resides in the Bronx, claimed that the event that took place on April 7 was an act of bias and that it occurred as she was preparing for the Jewish Sabbath, Shabbat. Rochelle described the incident as a hate crime.
Rochelle said that she had seen, through her peripheral vision, an adult male walking across the street outside of her second-story window while carrying something in his hands behind his back. Because of the fragments of glass that were on her clothing as a result of the shattered window, she merely stood there and paused for just a moment. She said that the slab was inches from striking her.
A sheet of plywood was placed over the front window of Rochelle’s residence. A representative for the NYPD said that the investigation being conducted by the ‘Hate Crimes Unit’ is continuing and that the agency has not yet made an arrest in connection with the case.
It was alleged that Rochelle had film of the event, which showed the guy throwing the block of concrete into the window. She went to the police and reported the incident, alleging that the guy was attacking her due to the stickers in her window displaying support for Israel as well as the flag of Israel there.
According to a statement made by a spokesperson for the police department, an official report on criminal conduct committed within the jurisdiction of the 49th Precinct was received on Friday, April 7, 2023, at around 14:45 hours. According to the complaint, an unidentified suspect threw a rock through the window of a victim in order to cause malicious harm. A sign was hung in the window that said, “Wherever we stand, we stand with Israel”.
