He Got AWAY – GOP Fails To Pull Through

(USNewsMag.com) – On June 14, 20 Republicans united with Democrats to table a House proposal to reprimand Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), thereby defeating the measure. There were two Republican ‘present’ votes and four abstentions.

Representative Schiff has maintained throughout special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry that Trump’s campaign collaborated with the government in Russia to prevail in the 2016 election. In addition, he continually investigated Trump and said the president may go to prison.

The resolution sought to condemn and rebuke Schiff for using his position on the House Intelligence Committee to engage in behavior unbecoming of an elected House member, including engaging in conduct that misled the American people. On many occasions, Schiff said, the circumstantial evidence was there. No evidence of an illegal conspiracy between Trump’s campaign and the administration was discovered by Durham’s Special Counsel report, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, or the Inspector General of the DOJ, Michael Horowitz.

For his part in initiating a 2019 impeachment investigation of former President Trump, the motion also asked for Schiff to be censured. In response to that matter, he narrated what he claimed to be Trump’s phone conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

According to the resolution, the investigation against Trump cost the American public $32 million due to Schiff’s misuse of classified material, misrepresentations, and outright lying.

The resolution also called for Schiff to pay a $16 million punishment if the Ethics Committee determined that he had exploited his access to confidential material to launch a false probe that he used to gather political capital and campaign contributions.

For his part in spreading the Russia connection allegations, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy booted Schiff off the House Intelligence Committee.

To clear up any confusion, since some members of the House did not read the measure correctly, Representative from Florida Anna Paulina Luna, who presented the resolution, stated that she plans to file a motion to reprimand Representative Schiff and refer him for an ethics inquiry.
