Biden Gets URGENT Letter – His Response Will Determine A Woman’s Life
(USNewsMag.com) – Russian authorities arrested Brittney Griner in February at an airport in the country. The WNBA player was allegedly caught with cannabis oil cartridges in her luggage. On Independence Day, the incarcerated American sent a letter to the president of the US pleading for help.
The New York Times reported Griner sent President Joe Biden a handwritten letter that said she’s sitting in a Russian prison cell “without the protection of her” loved ones, her Olympic jersey or any accomplishments, and she’s “terrified [she] might be [there] forever.” She went on to say she knows he is dealing with a lot but begged him to not “forget” about her or the other US detainees.
The Phoenix Mercury player asked the president to please do everything he can to bring them home. In addition to Griner, former Marine Paul Whelan has been held since 2018. There are also two other US citizens, Alexander John-Robert Drueke and Andy Tai Ngoc Huynh, being held after Russian troops captured them in Ukraine.

The Biden administration maintains it’s doing everything possible to bring the detained Americans home. Griner is facing 10 years in prison for the drug charges. In 2020, a Russian court sentenced Whelan to 16 years in prison. Drueke and Huynh are facing possible death sentences.
