Dem Donor in Biden Post Bought Hunter Art

(USNewsMag.com) – A Biden family friend, who is also a top Democratic donor, has purchased a piece of Hunter Biden’s art.

Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, who is a Los Angeles real estate investor, bought one piece of Hunter Biden’s artwork at the Georges Bergès Gallery located in Manhattan. Naftali is known for donating tens of thousands of dollars to Democrats, including more than $200,000 to President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign. She has already donated more than $13,000 to his 2024 reelection campaign.

In July 2022, she was named to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, just a few months after Hunter Biden’s artwork went on sale. When she bought the piece of artwork remains unclear.

According to an official in the Biden administration, Naftali was recommended for the position by former House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi. The official stated that the art deal did not have anything to do with her position.

Between September 2022 and March 2023, Naftali visited the White House 13 times, according to the White House visitor logs. She had a one-on-one meeting with Neera Tanden, a White House senior adviser, as well as with White House policy adviser Richard Figueroa. She also attended crowded events that were also attended by the president.

According to a report by Business Insider, Hunter Biden has made at least $1.3 million from selling his artwork so far. One anonymous purchaser bought 11 pieces of artwork for $875,000. During Hunter Biden’s art show in Hollywood, he sold five pieces of artwork for $375,000.

In order to avoid the appearance of corruption, the White House said all sales would be anonymous. However, one buyer is reported to be lawyer Kevin Morris, who loaned $2 million to Hunter Biden to pay off back taxes.

The details of the sales of Hunter Biden’s artwork have been requested by the House Oversight Committee, with Republicans expressing concern over the potential for influence-peddling through the purchases.
