Convicted Molester Gets Stabbed In Prison

(USNewsMag.com) – On Sunday, July 9, at 2:35 p.m., ex-USA Gymnastics doctor and pedophile Lawrence Gerard Nassar, aged 59, was stabbed. An inmate at the United States Penitentiary Coleman in Sumterville, FL, attacked Nassar, who was convicted of sexually abusing female gymnasts.

Along with his federal prison term, Nassar was given a sentence of up to 175 years in prison by a Michigan state court. Over the past two decades, more than 150 women and girls have testified in court that Nassar sexually abused them.

In Ingham County, Michigan, he acknowledged seven counts of criminal sexual conduct. Furthermore, he confessed to exploiting his medical authority to molest and assault girls during medical examinations. The FBI found thousands of images of child sexual abuse material and video of Nassar allegedly molesting underage girls.

His sentencing includes 60 years in federal prison for child pornography, 40–175 years for the sexual assault in Ingham County, MI, and 40–125 years for the sexual assault in Eaton County, MI.

A source told Fox News that during the attack, Nassar suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck, back, and chest. As a result, Nassar’s lung collapsed, but due to staff members taking life-saving measures and calling Emergency Services, Nassar survived.

The attacker was identified as Shane McMillan, who had been convicted of assaulting a correctional officer and attempting to kill another inmate in the past.

Using an improvised weapon, McMillan attacked Nassar after the latter made an offensive comment while watching a Wimbledon tennis match on TV. Four prisoners intervened by removing McMillan from Nassar. The information came from a witness who was present.

Nassar is being held at the United States Penitentiary Coleman, which is a high-security USP-2 facility. The prison accommodates 1,214 inmates and is exclusively for male offenders.

Neither the staff nor other inmates were harmed during the assault, and the public was never at risk. An internal investigation is currently underway.
