Congresswoman Wants To Fix “Number One Issue” Americans Are Facing

Lawmaker Claims This Is The “Number One Issue” Facing Americans

( – Americans are facing rising costs amid the global inflation crisis. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently reported inflation in the US ticked up to 8.6% — a 40-year high. A congresswoman is finally hoping to tackle the problem.

On June 12, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) appeared on “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy” to discuss the GOP’s plan to battle inflation. She told the former congressman that Democrats have “spent more taxpayer dollars than any other Congress” in history. The chair of the House Republican Conference went on to accuse President Joe Biden of “attempting to pass the buck.” If Republicans take back control of Congress, Stefanik said they’ll hold hearings on the issue.

Stefanik pointed out that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) hasn’t held a single hearing on the number one problem facing the American people.

While the current Congress seems to ignore the problem, prices are soaring out of control. On June 14, the BLS revealed the producer price index rose by 10.8% in the 12 months ending in May. Both the price of goods and fuel have risen, causing the dramatic increase. That’s led to families paying double-digit price increases at grocery stores, and Stefanik is hoping to change the situation rather than ignore it.
