(USNewsMag.com) – In a Nov. 1 video posted to Twitter, House Oversight Committee Chairman and Kentucky Rep. James Comer detailed $40,000 of “laundered China money” that President Joe Biden received via a personal check from his brother and sister-in-law in 2017.
Comer stated that evidence shows that not only did Biden lie about his son, Hunter Biden, “making money in China,” but also lied about the money that ended up “in Joe Biden’s bank account.” Comer added, “And the Oversight Committee has it.”
Biden “benefited from his family’s shady deal,” according to Comer, with the “money trail” beginning in July 2017. That is when Hunter Biden demanded a $10 million wire transfer in a WhatsApp message from an associate with the Chinese energy company CEFC. Hunter Biden allegedly stated to the business associate that he and his father would ensure “you will regret not following my direction.” The deal allegedly had Joe Biden “penciled in for a 10 percent cut.”
In his video, Comer cited bank records and stated that the “extortion scheme worked.” On Aug. 8, 2017, the $5 million was transferred to a joint venture established by CEFC associates Gongwen Dong and Hunter Biden, and on the same day, Comer said $400,000 was transferred to another entity owned by Hunter Biden.
On Aug. 14, 2017, $150,000 was wired from Hunter Biden to a company owned by James and Sara Biden. Sara Biden withdrew $50,000 in cash on Aug. 28, which she later deposited into a personal account belonging to her and James Biden. On Sept. 3, 2017, Comer said that “Sara Biden cut a check to Joe Biden for $40,000,” noting it was for a “loan repayment.” According to Comer, even if the check was for a loan repayment, the money trail proves that Joe Biden “benefited from his family cashing in on his name.”
The discovery of the $40,000 personal check comes after the House Oversight Committee received the personal and business bank records belonging to Hunter Biden as well as James Biden, which Comer had subpoenaed as part of the investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings.
