(USNewsMag.com) – The morning after Ron DeSantis made the formal declaration that he would fight Donald Trump for the Republican nomination for president in the primary election held the following year, Congressman Matt Gaetz, an America First proponent, climbed the steps to enter the US Capitol. Gaetz is a staunch supporter of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. He was clearly showing his support for Donald Trump, the 45th president, by donning a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap in a prominent shade of red.
Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida, a Republican, can be seen heading into work at the United States Capitol wearing a cap that has an American flag embroidered on the side of it in a video clip that was shared on Twitter. He informed the media that he was in a very good mood about the fact that he was wearing the colors of his team that day.
Joel Valdez, who serves as the communications director for Gaetz, said on Twitter that it was a lovely day on Capitol Hill. He also said that he would keep the MAGA hat on when he entered the United States Capitol.

Several prominent Floridians, including Gaetz and fellow Republican Congressman Byron Donalds, have backed President Trump above Ron DeSantis in the GOP Republican Primary in 2024. In response to Team DeSantis’ talking points, Donalds argued in an opinion piece that Trump alone can be entrusted to carry out the America First platform on which he campaigned in 2016 and 2020. They would not tolerate any copycats.
After the DeSantis announcement, President Trump told reporters at Trump National Golf Course that he was excited about the 2024 contest. He brought up polls showing him well ahead in the GOP primary.
If you ask Trump, he’s feeling terrific about 2024. He said that a survey taken that day had him ahead of DeSantis by a margin of 71 percent to 16 percent. He also said that the recent Fox poll was positive, as were many others.
