CDC: International Travelers No Longer Need COVID Tests

Health Travel Requirement CANCELLED – No Longer Required!

( – After almost three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States is finally getting back to normal. According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), travel is almost as busy as it was in 2019. The CDC recently removed a major restriction for international travelers.

As of June 12, international travelers no longer have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before boarding a flight to the US. There’s also no longer a requirement for people who were sick with the virus to show proof of recovery. According to a press release, the pandemic has “shifted to a new phase” of a lower risk of death and severe disease across America.

The CDC still recommends travelers receive a test no more than three days before traveling back to the US, but it isn’t mandatory. The agency has also asked people who are sick to avoid traveling.

The decision to rescind the testing requirement means the last of the coronavirus restrictions have been lifted for travelers. In April, US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle struck down the federal mask mandate. The Department of Justice is appealing the ruling. For now, travelers can once again fly freely without the government forcing them to endure expensive testing overseas or wearing face coverings.

Do you support the decision to get rid of the testing requirement?
