Bill Clinton Claims America Has an Immigration Limit
(USNewsMag.com) – The immigration crisis has been at the forefront of political conversations for more than a year. While border towns are overwhelmed, President Joe Biden’s administration has done little to stem the flow. Former President Bill Clinton recently spoke out about the issue.
On September 18, Clinton sat down with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria to discuss the midterm elections. The television host pointed out that many of the asylum seekers who have come to the US are economic migrants who are “essentially gaming the system.” He asked the former POTUS if he thinks there should be “some order placed on” it. Clinton responded, “I agree with that.” He went on to say there’s “a limit to how many migrants any society can take without severe disruption.”

Border Patrol has detained more than 2 million migrants at the Southern Border. While the government has deported more than 1.3 million, there are still over 700,000 in immigration proceedings. The volume has overwhelmed the system.
Clinton knows a little something about border control. In 1996, he signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, the immigration law that basically created the enforcement machine we have today. The legislation increased the penalties for migrants who violated the law and made more people eligible for deportation. Ironically, President Biden voted “yes” on the bill as a senator. Three decades later, the current POTUS doesn’t seem willing to take even the smallest steps to get the surge under control.
