Biden Makes It Official – A Message To Putin!
(USNewsMag.com) – At the end of April, Congress passed the historic Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022. President Joe Biden has now signed the bill into law.
On May 9, Biden signed the legislation which exempts his administration from certain provisions of the law related to the loan or lease of military equipment to foreign nations. The legislation was a modern-day version of the Lend-Lease Act put into place 81 years ago during WWII.
During the signing event, Biden praised the bipartisan lawmakers who passed the bill. He said although the “fight is not cheap … caving to aggression is even more costly.” The president has asked Congress to approve $33 billion more in military aid for Ukraine.

The New York Times reported by signing the bill, President Biden got America more deeply involved in a war. However, the legislation received broad support across Congress. Senate Bill 3522 was introduced in January, before the war, by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and co-sponsored by 21 senators including 14 Republicans, 6 Democrats and 1 Independent. Lawmakers believe it’s an important step to help Ukraine fight the aggressor.
While Russia seems to think anyone helping Ukraine is fighting a proxy war against them, the US disagrees. They’ve been helping Ukraine for years and the only reason there’s so much aid going there now is a direct response to Russia’s unprovoked war.
Do you believe it’s in the US’ best interest to help Ukraine?
