(USNewsMag.com) – President Joe Biden took office nine months ago and since then, it seems disasters are nagging him at every turn. The border is in chaos, the withdrawal from Afghanistan was a horrific blunder and now the economy is suffering. The American people are very concerned about his ability to do the job entrusted to him.
On October 26, an Axios/Ipsos poll found only 44% of Americans are confident the Biden administration will be able to steer the economy in a positive direction after the COVID-19 pandemic. In January, 52% of respondents had expressed confidence in the new president. Black Americans saw the steepest dip, with a decline of 23% while 15% of Democrats also lost confidence.
When Biden polls poorly at Axios, you know it’s bad…

In addition to the lack of confidence in Biden’s ability to manage economic issues, Americans are also losing trust in the president. The poll found only 45% of people believe he’s providing correct information about the coronavirus. That number is down from 58% when he took office.
Biden’s tanking poll numbers could cause a significant problem in the 2022 midterms. If the American people don’t trust the president to do his job, it seems unlikely they’ll allow his party to keep the congressional majority. But with the elections more than a year away, the country will have to wait to see how it plays out.
