(USNewsMag.com) – New analysis shows that Hunter Biden’s business associate Eric Schwerin visited the White House during the Obama administration as well as the residence of then-Vice President Joe Biden more times than was previously thought.
Between 2009 and 2016, Schwerin visited the White House as well as the Naval Observatory in Washington 36 times. During two of the visits in 2016, he met then-Vice President Joe Biden’s chief of staff, Steve Ricchetti. Ricchetti currently serves as the White House counselor for Biden.
Previously, it had been reported that he visited at least 19 times from 2009 to 2016.
It is believed that Hunter Biden and Schwerin first met during the Clinton administration while working in the Commerce Department.
Schwerin had been managing director of Rosemont Seneca Partners, the now-dissolved investment firm that was founded by Hunter Biden and Archer. From 2002–2008, Schwerin was listed as a partner in Oldaker, Biden & Belair, Hunter Biden’s lobbying firm.
Schwerin also managed the financial affairs of Hunter Biden’s family. According to the New York Post, emails retrieved from Hunter Biden’s laptop show that Schwerin moved money on behalf of both then-Vice President Joe Biden and Hunter Biden while helping Hunter Biden handle family expenses.
In 2015, former President Barack Obama selected Schwerin to serve on the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.
Schwerin attended a Dec. 12, 2015, holiday reception at the Naval Observatory, which was also attended by then-Vice President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Devon Archer. Just days before the holiday reception, Joe Biden returned from Ukraine, where he allegedly threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees if Viktor Shokin, the country’s top prosecutor, was not fired.
Hunter Biden and Schwerin cut ties after a fallout in December 2017.
Schwerin was asked by House Republicans in April 2022 for all communications that involved President Joe Biden and Hunter Biden since 2009. He was also asked for a list of positions he held within Biden family companies.
