3 Things That Went Wrong in Biden's First Year

(USNewsMag.com) – President Joe Biden has been in office for almost a year, but to some, it might feel like it’s been an eternity. The Democrat’s first time in office has been crisis after crisis. Here’s a look back at the POTUS’ biggest failures in his first year.

Border Crisis

The crisis on the Southern border is like that song from the show “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along” — it just never ends. Border Patrol officials encountered nearly 2 million immigrants in fiscal year 2021. It was a massive surge from the previous year. Still, the President and his VP Kamala Harris have done little to stem the flow of illegals coming into America during the first global pandemic in a century, straining our economy and putting citizens in even more danger.

Afghanistan Withdrawal

America’s longest war came to an end in August. President Joe Biden ordered all of the troops to leave the country by August 31 and that’s what happened. However, the actual withdrawal was a complete and utter disaster. The administration failed to plan for it properly, causing a mad dash to get all of the American citizens, refugees, and soldiers out of the battlezone.

Ultimately, 13 service members were killed after an ISIS-K bomb went off while they were guarding the Kabul airport. Approximately 150 Americans were left behind as the terrorists took over complete control of the country immediately upon the US departure.

Vaccine Mandates

After months of claiming he wasn’t going to mandate vaccines, Biden did an about-face. He ordered all federal workers, healthcare workers at facilities receiving federal funding, and employees at large companies to get the COVID-19 jabs. The directive set off a firestorm and he was sued multiple times. His mandates are in limbo, while workers fear losing their jobs.

All in all, the first year of the Biden administration has been … stressful, to say the least.
